Kayla had a feeling that Jack had had some issues in his past, but she didn't know what, but he seemed to understand what she was going through and he would be the first person to understand. If anyone else did, then they wouldn't have left her or betrayed her like they did. Kayla really wanted to trust Jack, but she just couldn't allow herself to, atleast not yet. He asked how he could prove it to her. His hand lightly stroked her face as he moved a strand of hair from her face. She liked the contact, it had been a long time since she had been this close to anyone. She was starved of affection. Her hand caught his as he brought the hair behind her ear and she held his hand for a second before letting go. She didn't know why she did that, it was just a reaction. If she didn't have trust issues she probably would have stepped forward and kissed him, but she didn't so she let his hand drop to his side where he shoved his hands in his pockets. "I don't really know. I guess just being there for me and eventually I may be able to trust you." She said shrugging a little. She wasn't sure if there was anything specific he could do really. Ok, Kayla wanted to lighten the mood. It was getting all to serious and very depressing. She wrapped her arms around her waist and looked back up to Jack. "So you mentioned about taking me out, when and where? I mean I kinda like surprises but I do need to know the dress code." She said with the very slightest hint of a smile on her face, indicating she was being playful. She didn't want Jack thinking that depression ruled her, which it kind of did, but he was very perceptive so he had probably already guessed this.[/blockquote]

Jack walked slowly back toward the castle. He was getting tired and it really was starting to get cold out. It was obvious that he wasn't going to make a whole lot of progress with Kayla tonight. Then she surprised him by saying he could take her out. He smiled at her in the dark, immediatley thinking of all the places he could potentially take her and trying to think of the most romantic and calm places as well. "Um....nice. Dress...nice, like...candlelight, Italian setting, nice. You never know," he grinned, looking back down at the ground. The night was, nice, still cold, but even as the moon continued to rise, he was enjoyig himself. He didn't have to worry about work or school, and he wasn't worried about anything else either. Just Kayla. It was nice being able to think about and worry about someone other than Adyrian's work and Shane. Not to mention, she was a lot prettier than both of them.

Kayla arched a brow slightly as Jack told her what type of clothing she should wear. It sounded as if she should dress formally but not over the top. So maybe a dress would be good. He mentioned an Italian setting. Kayla loved Italian food. Especially pizza. But she wouldn't be woofing down a grab bid pizza on a first date. She didn't need Jack seeing her with sauce and pepperoni stuck to her face. Not that she ate like an animal of course but something like that was bound to happen in front of a guy she was beginning to like. It seemed like he was going to surprise her which could be a good thing, not all surprises were bad, which is what she was telling herself at the moment. "Umm ok. I'll have to see what I got." She said smirking a little. She did have a few dresses that were decent for where Jack may be planning to take her. Part of her was afraid he would stand her up, it had happened before and she was sure it would happen again, but what if Jack didn't. So she had to take one final shot right. Ok so she had some idea of what to where, she just needed him to tell her what time and day to be ready by. Kayla was walking beside him as they headed back to the castle. It was extremely dark and very cold. Not to mention Kayla was tired, sore and bruised. She needed a hot bath and then a long sleep. Hopefully she would have a nightmare free night as she had already lived the nightmare tonight with Unwyn. "When was you planning on us going out?" She asked looking down at the ground. This was so far out of her comfort zone she really didn't know how to act.[/blockquote]

Jack smiled widely as he walked her toward the castle. He was actually getting cold and he wasn't wearing a jacket. He realized she must be freezing. So he walked on toward the castle, inevitably ending their evening together. But...she agreed ot let him takeher out. He'd gotten somewhere with the girl who was so sad and barricaded herself in. "Tomorrow night," he said, once they were at the castle doors. Heopened the door for her and followed her in, rubbing his hands together to warm them back up. He walked her down the halls quietly. There really wasn't a lot he wanted to say now. He was contemplating their next evening. He wanted to make it something she'd remember, something that would start towrad her trusting him. Once they were at her common room, he turned to her. "Thank you, Kayla, for a lovely evening. I look forward to another one tomorrow night. Have a good eveniing, Kayla Sommers," he said, bowing his head slightly. If it were any other girl, he probably would have kissed her on the cheeck, but he wasn't pushing his luck this evening. He smiled a crooked smile and headed down the hall toward his own common room.

Kayla was surprised when he told her that he would take her out tomorrow night. She thought maybe he would say next week or something, but it was a nice surprise. "Ok, tomorrow night then." Said Kayla agreeing with him. Not like she had anything planned anyway. They were getting closer to the castle and Jack held the door open for her when they got to the castle doors. She found that odd as no one had ever shown her that kind of courtesy. She smiled very slightly and nodded a little. "Thank you." She said and walked through. The castle was so warm, well it was compared to the outside. Jack seemed to be walking her to her common room which again was another nice surprise. Kayla did have a nagging feeling though that maybe he was doing this just to get her into bed and she was also worried that he wasn't going to show up tomorrow night. Kayla didn't say anything about those worries though, Jack probably thought she was crazy enough as it is. When they arrived at Isbjorn common room Jack thanked her for a lovely evening and such. He bowed slightly and then said goodnight to her. "Goodnight Jack." She said quietly and watched him walk off down the corridor. She couldn't help but check out the view though. He had one fine ass. Kayla mentally rolled her eyes at her self and then said the password to enter her common room. Now all she had to do was stress about the fact if she was going to get stood up tomorrow night, which wouldn't be a big surprise if she did. Kayla was going to have to wait and see what happens. That night when she went to bed after a long soak in the bath she prayed that Jack wouldn't be like anyone else and would stand by his word.[/blockquote] FINNISHED
