Durmstrang Crown Challenge 1!!!

Adonis straightened the collar of his black dress shirt and flattened the front of it down until it looked smooth. He smiled at his wife and then walked up to the platform...he hissed as he pointed his wand at his throat, sonorous he whispered to himself. He felt a vibration in his throat as he met the center of his stage. He gave a smile to the crowd before his voice escaped from his throat, Welcome everyone to the first challenge of the Durmstrang Crown. Today one champion will be eliminated from the competition. He said as he looked upon the four champions with a serious look in his blue eyes..., Today the champions will discover that what awaits them may be more than they can handle...one at a time each champion will go into the mountain arena...into the cave and recover one of the 4 golden eggs from the monster within...I can not promise injury and death can be avoided...but only the best will be push forward to the next challenge...inside the eggs only 3 secrets of the next challenge can be found...1 egg is empty. He said with a smile, First up is Aydin Bennett from Haukstein House. Good luck Aydin you will be needing it!. He said as he motioned for the other challengers to go back into the tent so they could be kept from seeing anything of the first challenge.

Adonis kept his eyes on Aydin as he entered the first challenge and they shut the doors out of the arena close shut behind him...He kept his eyes glued to Aydin...knowing the chimera awaited him within the cave...

((Angel your 1st reply will be you facing the Chimera, then i will reply as the chimera and then you will reply about getting past it somehow and getting the egg in whatever way Aydin does it...you will not open the egg until all the other challengers get their eggs))

Aydin picked at his fingernails nervously as he awaited the start of the competition. In reality, he probably didn’t need to be nervous at all since really, what could actually hurt him now, but his human side was still worried about the fear and risk of death. He had no idea what waited in that cave for him and he had no idea how he was going to face it. Maybe it was a dragon, or a giant, or something that could just squash him like a bug with little to no effort. Either way, he wasn’t his normal overly cocky self on the inside. Once his name was called and he began the challenge, his need to show off in front of everyone would of course shine through his nervousness.

Secretly, he hoped Neko wasn’t actually watching though he was sure he was. This was bound to be dangerous and he didn’t want to put Neko through the stress of watching him. Aydin stood still, listening to the Headmaster go over the rules. It didn’t seem to difficult…enter the cave, battle the monster, get the egg, don’t die. Seemed simple enough…depending on what the creature was…and he was really good with creatures…so…he had a good chance right? The only problem was that only 3 people were going to pass this challenge either way…what if he picked the wrong egg? His heart started to race as he thought about this possibility. He almost didn’t notice that his name was called and the other challengers were heading back into the tent. Closing his eyes tightly for a second, he took a deep breath and gripped his wand tightly before opening his eyes and heading into the cave. Lumos He muttered as he entered the cave so that a dim light shone out the tip of his wand. He didn’t see anything at first as he took a few tentative steps in…then his light hit it...the Chimera, toward the back of the cave, guarding the 4 golden eggs he heard so much about. [orange]Oh shit…[/orange] He whispered to himself, trying to figure out what his next move would be.

The Chimera raised her head as foot steps entered her cave...man's footsteps no doubt..Her gold eyes narrowed as she stared into the darkness..waiting for the trespasser to reveal themselves to her. Her dragon like tail wrapped around her nest of gold eggs behind her protectively... she stomped her goat feet as the boy came into view. As the boy whispered some human words the Chimera growled a warning...she wouldn't warn the boy again....

Smoke crept out of her mouth as the fire built up inside of her....She opened her mouth and bellowed out a long stream of fire towards the boy...hoping to burn the boy to a crisp...the boy would not get near her eggs...She whipped her tail towards the boy catching the boy's legs with her tail knocking him off his feet before blowing another stream of fire in his direction.

Aydin stopped in his tracks as he heard the inhuman growl of the Chimera, completely directed towards him. He knew she knew that he wanted one of her eggs and she wasn’t going to just let him have it without a fight. He took a nervous gulp as he stepped forward hesitantly only to step right back to where he had been as he saw the smoke and resulting fire shoot out of the creature’s mouth. If he had continued walking, surely he would have gotten burned. He stood there, stunned for a moment, he tried to think of something suitable to do that wouldn’t get him killed and/or seriously injured. As he stood however, he didn’t notice the dragon-esque tail that whipped below him, knocking him down on his back as a stream of fire flew over him. This Chimera was not messing around…

Then it hit him…he had an idea…but he probably only had one shot at this if he wanted to do it right and not die. Gripping his wand tightly, he tapped himself on the top of the head, before feeling an annoying dripping sensation going down his body. He was camouflaged, with the help of a disillusionment charm but under the current circumstances, he wasn’t quite sure how well he performed it and how well it would last. He had one shot and it was now or never. He sprinted towards the nest, hoping like hell the Chimera couldn’t somehow see him. Grabbing the first egg he saw he took It under his arm like a football before turning like a ninja and running back towards the entrance of the cave. He could feel the charm wearing off as he ran but he hoped he was running fast enough to make it out safely. At the entrance of the cave, he dove and rolled outward clutching the egg to his chest, hoping just being outside of the cave was enough to be safe, and hoping that he was done with the challenge, and hoping to the gods his egg wasn’t empty.

Adonis kept his eyes on the opening of the cave...waiting for any sign of life...he could smell fire....but no blood yet...so everything was going well he hoped...His blue wolf eyes stared into the dark opening of the cage. As a shape emerge he took a deep breath in relief before adressing the crowd, Aydin Bennett has retrieved his egg!!! CONGRATULATIONS AYDIN!!! remember not to open you egg until I tell you to do so!! He said so loud that the entire stadium could hear him...

He watched as Aydin came up to him and sat at an empty bench beside him still clutching the egg to his chest. He turned his attention back to the crowd, NEXT UP!!! RAELYN KISSINGER OF ISBJORN!!! His voice boomed across the crowd. He watched as she emerged from the tent, GOOD LUCK RAELYN He said before taking his seat...his eyes locked on her...
