It really wasn’t like Shay, to do things that people told her not to do but every once in a while everyone rebelled right? She was just getting really tired of constantly having to be watched like she was a 5 year old. Sure, she took Cayden’s threats seriously and she didn’t want to worry Zakaria by going off on her own without letting anyone know, but she really needed some time alone just to think. Beside, Zakaria had probably already sensed that her hesitance to do something so…un-thought out and rebellious and he would probably be watching her feelings carefully in case she needed him. Although she really doubted she would since Cayden probably had more important things to do than be sitting out by the lake for no random apparent reason like she was. Plus, he hated water just as much as she did, which is why she picked this spot.

She hated being so close to such a large body of water. It was making her heart race just by the sight of it, and she wasn’t even sitting close enough so that the water could touch her. She was probably a foot back from the shoreline, watching the waves wash against the sand, flinching every time they even got within 8 or so inches of her. This was the last place anyone would look for her…except maybe up on a broom, but that was one fear she really wasn’t planning to conquer, ever.

It was nice, this little bit of solitude, but she had so many things going through her mind that it probably wasn’t really safe for her to be alone with her thoughts at the moment. It had been nearly a week since her and Cayden broke up and it was still hard for her to wrap her head around. She still loved him and she knew there was nothing that was going to change that, although, just seeing him scared the daylights out of her. Of course, they still had classes together, there was no way to avoid that, but she had traded all of her seats right next to him for ones that were the farthest possible distance away from him that the classroom could possibly allow. Being near him terrified her and brought back thoughts of that day; his hand around her throat, the look of pure hate in his eyes, the way he spoke to her…she couldn’t think about it without crying. Even now, a tear or two escaped from her eyes and she couldn’t help it.

For some reason, she scooted closer to the water, so that she was about 4 inches away. Close enough for her to dip her fingers in the icy water as it moved close with its waves. She couldn’t explain why she was doing this, her heart raced each time the water hit her fingers, but for some reason she was enjoying the adrenaline rush she was getting from conquering her fear. She thought she heard someone approaching her, but she didn’t turn to look, at the moment she didn’t really care.

Shay was right in thinking someone was approaching her. She heard the footsteps draw closer and closer but she didn’t turn around to look. It could have been anyone really; she didn’t always have to assume Cayden was going to be around every corner like she had been lately and right now was a prime example. She was brave right now, and she really had no idea. She just sat there, staring out at the water, touching it with her finger tips, only acknowledging that there was another presence there when she heard that familiar voice. She closed her eyes and lowered her head in defeat for a moment as Skylar sat down next to her. It was disheartening that she got caught after only such a short time of being alone, but she kind of expected it. Although, he didn’t seem like he was out here to look for her, she just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know I know better…. She sighed, turning towards him slightly.

She was really just expecting a slap on the wrist and to get sent back to the castle, but she didn’t expect her to actually get mad at her. Look, I’m sorry. I really just wanted to be alone just for a little while. Not having anyone watching over for a few seconds out of my day. Is that so terrible? She looked him in the eyes frowning slightly. The way he looked at her made her feel bad though. If something had happened to her, the blame would have been on him since he was supposed to be keeping an eye on her.

Skylar frowned slightly at her words. I understand your need to be alone...but perhaps locking yourself alone in your dorm would of been more favorable then sitting out at a lake where anyone could come up to you. He said with a half smile. The way he was glaring at her turned soft as he looked into her eyes. Shay was good girl regardless of her decisions and what she had been through. He would hate to see something bad happen to her... regardless of Mikayla and Zakaria. Shaylyn was an excellent student and she was definatly going somewhere in life. He could understand why his older brother Zakaria was falling for her... I know you want to be alone...but do you mind if I keep you company? He asked with a small smile, I know that you don't want to be protected right now...but I can't help but do so... He said with a slight frown, I won't speak if you want to pretend your alone. He said as he looked into her eyes. She looked a lot like Mikayla so he couldn't help but feel protective over her. Mikayla was pratically family to him and if she was seeing Zakaria as well she was basically family to him either way.

Shay sighed listening to Skylar. Of course he was right, if she had just locked herself in her dorm she would have been alone and also wouldn’t have gotten into any trouble but she had been locked in her dorm room way too often for the past few days and to be honest she was kind of getting bored of the décor. Of course you’re right. But honestly wouldn’t you get bored of spending all of your alone time in the same place? I was getting so tired of only seeing the inside of the school. She felt bad for nearly getting Professor Stargazer in trouble. From what she had heard, he was a good teacher. Shay wasn’t actually taking his Mythology class but from what she had heard, it was a good class. Plus, he was her cousin’s best friend and she would probably also kill him if something were to happen to her. She knew she probably should have told Mikayla what was going on, but even with the few times she had talked to her in the few days, Shay had only told her the bare minimum…Skylar had probably told her more than Shay had and that made her feel kind of bad as well. She sighed, looking towards him for the first time in a while. I know you can’t not protect me, I get it, and I’m really glad it was you that found me first instead of, well, a less desirable option. She looked into his eyes for a moment before looking back down at the ground. You can stay there if you want…and you don’t have to be quiet or anything if you don’t want to. I guess I’m done with my alone time now anyway right?

Skylar smiled slightly at her as she told him she was getting bored of being inside the school, I, myself, would flip out if I was stuck in doors...I like being outside to much. He said with a wink to her as he looked up into the late afternoon sky. It was gorgeous though a bit darker than usual, perhaps snow would be coming soon? He nodded slightly to himself sure that the clouds would pour snow across the grounds in the next week or so. Durmstrang was not the most friendly of climates. He looked back at Shaylyn and shrugged slightly.

Skylar smirked slightly at her response, Do you have any idea how hard it is for me not to tell Mikayla about all of this? She's my best friend and it's killing me to keep it from her. He said with a slight frown, She would kill me if she knew how serious the threat of your ex-boyfriend killing you was...and even more so that I am holding juicy gossip about you and Zakaria from her. He said with a wink. Zakaria is a good man Shaylyn... I don't think you really realize how much he cares for you. I wish I had grown up with him around...But my father was a cruel man and the idea of having a kid around that wasn't his blood was intolerable to him. It's sad really to have the last name of your step father and still be set aside like a piece of trash....I love Zakaria...no matter how my father thought of him....he is son to my mother, bless her soul...and everything that happened to him was horrible at best. It's nice to see him actually trusting someone enough to fall head over heels with them....you must be special. He said with a half grin, Or at least count yourself lucky...I have never before seen him so taken by anything or anyone...except his son.

Shaylyn couldn’t help but half smile at Skylar’s response. So you see what I mean. I can’t stand to be inside for too long…I love the outdoors, but…not as much here at Durmstrang…it’s too cold for my taste. She said with a slight shiver. As the sun was getting closer to setting, the temperature was also dropping and once the sun went down she knew she wouldn’t be able to stay outside anymore. In the couple of months she had been there she had gotten slightly more used to the annoyingly cold climate of Norway, but now that winter was coming, she had no idea how she was going to survive. She had never even really seen snow before so…this was sure to be interesting.

She felt bad that Skylar had to keep secrets from his best friend and it also made her feel bad that she herself hadn’t told her what was going on. Her and Mikayla, even though a few years apart with drastically different personalities, had always been close and had always told each other everything. This though, she had no idea how to tell her and it kind of hurt her to keep her cousin in the dark. I’m sorry you’ve had to keep all of this from her. I’ve been meaning to tell her myself but I can’t really start a conversation with ‘oh by the way, I’m in serious danger of being murdered and I may very well be in l-‘ She cut herself off before she said anything more. It was hard enough admitting to herself how she felt about Zakaria, mostly because she still wasn’t completely sure about her feelings. Was it possible to…love someone so soon after being in love with someone else? She really had no idea, which was why she hadn’t said a word to anyone about it…although she really wished she had someone to talk to about all of this.

Shay sighed before trying to recover from what she almost let slip, hoping that he didn’t notice what she almost said. I’ve told her a bit about what is going on, but really just the not so important stuff…but I think she would be pretty mad if she found out how much we weren’t telling her. The topic switched quite suddenly and as Shaylyn listened to Skylar, she wasn’t sure what to feel. I don’t doubt how good he is even in the slightest. He’s a way better man than I really probably deserve but I’m happy if I can even bring an ounce of happiness into his life… She looked down at the ground, her cheeks tinted pink. I really think I’m falling hard for him…but I didn’t think that was possible…to fall for someone so soon after loving someone else. But apparently it is? She looked over at him, looking into his eyes as if asking his advice on the situation.

Skylar couldn't help but giggle as she said the weather was a bit cold for her taste. Hogwart's at least had a more durable season change with milder's winters and summers...Durmstrang's winters were just harsh and could chill you to the bone. So he could defiantly understand trying to catch the last minutes of Autumn before the snow began the harsh winter. The falling sun was no help though....

As she spoke he couldn't help but tilt his head curiously....he couldn't help but notice her cut off in the middle of saying something. He raised his eyebrow at her but decided to be polite by ignoring it, You are defiantly in danger....there is no way getting around that fact...but I promise we will protect you from harm. He said firmly.

As she sighed he looked into her eyes. She would really be pissed. However, I think she would understand some parts of it though..if you told her. She cares for you a lot. He said with confidence. Her next words and the way she looked at him...made him sigh, Believe me..It's not impossible to fall in love at any time...with anyone...love is untamable and unexpected. You can't control what your heart wants... you just have to trust in it. If it's falling for Zakaria then let it fall...just because you crashed with Cayden in the end doesn't mean you'll do the same with Zakaria. Zak is not the same man as Cayden regardless of...Zakaria falling for you is something true...and I know he means well by it...I would advice you trust your heart and trust in him... Love may be unexpected sometimes, believe me I know...between you and me...I have been hit head first with an unexpected take of love...but I know that no matter what I need to dive head first before it disappears and it's to late.

Shay really hoped he hadn’t noticed her minor slip up in speaking but he didn’t say anything about it so either he didn’t, like she hoped, or he just didn’t want to ask. Either way, she didn’t really feel like explaining so it was good. There’s really no possibility this will all just “go away” is there? Like, by some miracle Cayden might just, let it go and leave me alone? She asked hopefully. It was so tiring, being in danger all the time, having to make sure she wasn’t alone places where she could be found and making sure she was always in the site of someone else when Cayden was around. He really hadn’t even looked at her since it happened as far as she knew which had to mean something right? It was also getting to her that people were always having to be responsible for her at all times, whether it be Skylar, Zakaria, anyone who had a part in this whole thing; surely they had better things to do than worry about her.

She sighed when he said Mikayla would probably be pissed. Shay knew she would be since she really hated being left out of things, and this was more than regular “things’ by any means. This was like “things” on a scale of epic proportions…and she only knew a few scarce details. As far as Shay could remember, she had only told Mikayla that her and Cayden had broken up and that she was talking to Zakaria…I wouldn’t even know how to start telling her what was going on. I have seriously only told her the bare minimum of what is going on…I think she might actually punch me if I come out and tell her now. She said with a small smile. Mikayla would probably never punch her…probably. But knowing her, she might.

Shaylyn wasn’t sure if she actually expected advice from Skylar but he actually did tell her what he thought and she listened carefully, taking in each word. She looked him in the eyes, wondering if she should tell him what she was thinking… what she had been thinking for a while, though she hadn’t actually admitted it to anyone yet. Though, she didn’t see anything really wrong with telling him, since he seemed to want to help…I know my heart has wanted Zakaria from the first night we met, however unconventional the way we met was, but part of it is still in love with Cayden. As much as I don’t want to be, I can’t ever get him entirely out of my mind. He was my first everything…kiss, boyfriend, love…everything and…I don’t know how I’m supposed to just get over that. As much as I know he hates me and everything, I can’t just stop feeling the way I do overnight. And I feel like, I wouldn’t be able to fully give myself to Zakaria until I do because it wouldn’t be fair to him. Even though I really do think I love him, I can’t bring myself to even think about telling him. She said, now looking down at the ground.

It was hard for her to be so open with someone that she didn’t really know all that well, and she had been so caught up with figuring out what to say and how to say what had been said to him that she didn’t notice until now that he too had also cut off in the middle of saying something, although he made it less obvious but slightly changing the subject. She wondered if she should even ask about it, but she knew if she didn’t she would always wonder what he might have said, and the curiosity would eat at her for a while. Wait…regardless of what? In what way would Zakaria and Cayden even be remotely similar? She asked curiously, finally looking up from the ground.

Skylar listened as she spoke of her love for Cayden and her love for Zakaria. He was quiet as he listened. He knew of course that she couldn't possibly stop feeling love for someone she had given her heart and self to, Shay...what your feeling isn't wrong for you to feel. Once you love someone...that feeling will stay with you forever and no matter how you try you will never be able to truly stop loving that person...they are a part of you that you can not erase. Don't try to erase you love for him...it's impossible. You need to let go of him though....your not right for him and he's not right for you by far...If you love him you'll let him go on his own way...he needs to flourish in whatever path he is on...and so do you. Your love for Zakaria is pure...I can see it in your eyes and that make me smile....I know your afraid to tell him...afraid to dive into the love you have for him....but honestly what bad could come from following you heart? He's a good man and I can tell he loves you...if you told him the truth I'm sure he would be the happiest guy in the world. He said with a smile....well almost the happiest guy in the world...he was engaged to his priestess now and he was pretty sure he was the happiest guy in the universe.

Her question made him bite down on his lip, I really don't think I should be the one to tell you that...though he's my brother....that business is not my own.... He said nervously....he jumped slightly as he heard a pop between them.

Zakaria awoke from his slumber after a good day's rest to the appearance of his son's face over him. He looked up into his son eyes that mirrored his own and smiled. Sometimes looking at Zayden was like seeing a little Zakaria standing in front of him. He looked like he could of been his twin when they were younger and it made him smile. He was happy to see that very little of his mother's traits had carried into the boy. Though only eight he was pretty handsome and already was pretty popular with the older first year girls running around. He was proud of him. He sat up and rustled Zayden's hair, Zayden you need a haircut.. He said as he looked at the boys wild hair and how it fell several inches past his shoulders. Zayden grinned at him, Never dad, the girls like my long hair. Zayden said with a wink. Zakaria rolled his eyes and stood up. He pulled on a pair of black jeans and a black t-shirt then turned back to his son, I want you to meet Shay today okay? He asked him as he held a hand for him to apparate with him. Zayden scrunched up his nose, She better be hot or no deal. He said sticking his tongue out as he took his father's hand.

He could feel Skylar and Shaylyn before they actually landed....it was strange to find them together but he hadn't felt in worry from Shay so he was sure things were okay. Good evening you too, Shay this is Zayden. He said with a smile as his son looked Shay over.

Shay listened as Skylar gave her more advice. So she was right in thinking that she would probably never get over Cayden, but the fact that that was entirely normal made her feel better about it. Maybe now that she knew that, she would be able to tell Zakaria how she really felt. In the back of her mind, she had known her true feelings for a while, but they were being pushed aside by the other thoughts in her head telling her how unfair it was to him to still love someone else. But telling Zakaria would be the easy part. What she was going to have to work on was letting go of Cayden. As much as she didn’t want to, she knew she had to, and admitting it was the first step right? There’s really nothing I want more than to make him happy… She said, wiping a stray tear off of her cheek that had tried to escape. She was almost certain it was a happy tear though, and she hadn’t cried one of those in such a long time. I think I will tell him…I don’t know when…but when the time is right I’ll tell him how I feel. You’re a good help you know…you should be a therapist or something. She said giving him a smile.

She was about to ask something else, when she jumped slightly at the sound of a pop between them. She turned towards the source of the noise to see Zakaria standing there; holding the hand of…who looked to be his mini twin; that had to be Zayden. And as he was introduced, her thoughts were confirmed. Shay smiled brightly, both from the happiness to see Zakaria and for getting the chance to meet Zayden finally. She was super nervous to meet him though, and she really hoped he liked her, so she needed to make a good impression. Evening sweetie. She said to Zakaria before turning her attention to Zayden. And good evening to you. It’s nice to finally meet you. I’ve heard so many good things about you. She said giving him a sweet smile. Clearly, she was nervous to meet him and she really REALLY didn’t want to screw this up.

Skylar couldn't help but smile at her as she said she was going to tell him, when the time was right. It made him happy to see her. As the pop noise interrupted their conversation he looked up from where he sat at his brother and his nephew. He smiled at both, Morning sir. He teased. He listened as Shay introduced himself to Zayden and he couldn't help but be nervous for her...Zayden was....well unpredictable for a child. He wasn't sure what the boy would do and he couldn't help but glance up at his brother Zakaria...shooting him a glance basically saying here we go the big moment.

Zayden for the most part was a good kid. A little too sexual for his age but altogether a good kid. He was such a smart kid...and was excelling in his studies even though he was still far from being old enough to attend Durmstrang. He looked down at the Zayden as the boy responded.

Zakaria smiled sweetly as Shaylyn's face lit up with a bright smile. It brought definite promise in his heart and he couldn't help but mirror her happiness. He gave Skylar a smirk at his playful hello and then listened as Shaylyn said hello to Zayden. He smiled at this. He really really hoped they would get along. He glance down and saw Skylar staring at him with a nervous look in his eyes and he could help but shrug, he had absolutely no idea how the boy would respond. He smiled at Skylar to assure him that he was sure it would be okay...

Zayden seemed to study Shaylyn for a long moment after she said hello to him. His face was blank for a moment in thought, but he cracked a smile and turned to his father, Alright, she's hot. then turned back to Shaylyn, Hi babe. Of course you've heard good things about me! I'm awesome...like ten times more awesome than my dad. He said with a wink to her and then stuck out his tongue at his dad.

Zakaria stuck his tongue back, Sorry kid. That one's mine. He told him before winking at Shaylyn.

Words couldn’t really describe how nervous Shaylyn was at the moment. She needed Zayden to like her because if not, it would make loving Zakaria a whole lot more difficult. If his son didn’t like her, what chance did she really have? As she greeted Zayden, she waited patiently for his response. He stood there for a moment, looking blank and her heart sunk a bit, thinking she had totally screwed everything up. That was until she saw him crack a smile and turn to Zakaria and apparently confirm that she was indeed “hot”. She gave Zak a confused look for a moment before Zayden began speaking to her. She couldn’t help but smile at what he said…he was just too adorable for words and he really was the little charmer. It was clear he had gotten that from his father. I really don’t doubt you’re level of awesomeness, but like your dad said, I’m taken. She said, looking up at Zak with a bright smile for a moment. I’m sure there are several other pretty girls around that can properly appreciate how awesome you are. She said smiling, giving him a wink. She was so glad that he liked her…at least he seemed like he liked her, and that meant that she could relax…just a bit.
