Shay’s winter break hadn’t really been as eventful as most other people’s probably was. She went home and spent time with her brother; the two of them had visited their father as well as gone to visit other family in Brazil. Sure, she had done a lot of travelling and that was fun but she would have much rather stayed in one place and seen Zakaria more than she had…which was only a couple of times in the span of those weeks. She was dying to see him as soon as she got back to school, but of course she had to arrive during the day and that would have to wait until tonight. Until then, she really needed something to keep her occupied. Since it was basically the day to arrive back after Christmas break, there really weren’t a lot of people around just yet. Most would probably arrive later before bed or early the next morning before classes started so the Sjenert Katt common room was deserted when she came back down from unpacking. She felt really uncomfortable in the outfit she was wearing; over the break she had gone to see Mikayla and she insisted on giving her a makeover. She said her clothes were too boring and she was “never going to keep her man interested” if she kept dressing “like she was twelve”. Shaylyn never saw anything wrong with the way she dressed before and she still didn’t, but now her jeans were tighter, her shirts contained less fabric, and her shoes had annoyingly tall heels. She wondered slightly what Zakaria would even say about her new look, and she was nervous to show him, but the outfit she had on was one of the most tame that she had so she didn’t see much of a problem with it. Plopping down on a chair by the fire, she took off her jacket now that she no longer needed it, revealing her almost completely bare shoulders which felt entirely awkward for her. Shay was just glad that there was no one else in the common room yet, otherwise she would have felt even more awkward. Outfit |

 Adalynn smiled at her mother, Mum...I must head off now. She said with a smile as she pulled on her moccasins and her snow hat and slipped her hands into the gloves of the hat. She smiled at herself in the hallway mirrot before turning back to her mum. Her mother kissed her on her cheek, Well then, have fun sweetie...and let me know what happens with that boy you like...I'm sure you will dazzle with him. She said with a wink. Adalynn smiled and aparatated out of the castle leaving her mom with her mouth open as she realized something Adalynn had forgot...
Adalynn felt her feet land on the floor of her common room before she realized her mistake. She smiled at herself on the easy journey back to Durmstrang. As she looked up at Shaylyn who sat on the couch with her jaw dropped opened slightly. Her instant reaction was to pull in her wings...but she couldn't. She froze as her eyes locked with Shay's. She didn't know what to say...Her wings fluttered around her and she bit her lip as she stared into Shaylyn eyes... Adalynn's Outfit |

Shay hadn’t really been paying attention to anything around her at the moment. She was sitting around, staring at the fire with her knees pulled up against her chest, picking at the holes and fraying threads in her jeans. She really didn’t see the point in jeans like this…they were pre-ripped…who buys pre-ripped jeans in the first place? It didn’t really make any sense but Mikayla said they were cute and went with the outfit so that’s what she bought for her. If she kept this up though, the rips would be less part of the design and more legit holes and she would probably have to get rid of them but she wasn’t really worried about that right now.
Completely deep in thought, she almost didn’t notice the pop sound that came from somewhere in the room. Who could be apparating in here at this time of day? She thought as she turned towards the sound. Her jaw dropped slightly as she saw who it was. Adalynn was standing there, which wasn’t a big surprise, but the huge wings coming out of her shoulders…that was a bit of a shocker. Holy shi… She muttered to herself as she locked eyes with the little blonde girl, who really wasn’t as little as she was before Christmas break. Um….you know…uh…you have wings coming out of your back? She asked awkwardly, not really sure what to actually say in this situation.

Adalynn eyes widen as Shaylyn's words made since. She put her hand over her mouth to cover up her parted lips of shock. She took a step back and then looked for an escape route. She wanted to run, I...well...Oh wow...I don't know how to even tell you this..Shay. I'm a fairy. Like... swear to the gods fairy. But please...don't tell anyone...I'll do anything...please...this can't turn out like Beuxbaton...it just can't. She felt the tears starting to fall down her cheeks, Please...I'll do anything. She whispered as she tried to wipe the tears away. She wanted to fall to the floor and cry but she couldn't....she has to stand strong. She should of known better...now she was standing their awaiting punishment for her temporary loss of control. She should of put her wings away....she looked to the ground as her chest fluttered nervously. She didn't know what else to say or do...She stared down at a crack in the floor and bit her lip again. Clearly, Adalynn had either not been expecting anyone to be in the common room when she showed up, or she didn’t realize she had her wings exposed when she left her house. Either way, she looked like a deer in headlights at the moment and Shay felt really bad for her. She seemed so scared about what Shaylyn would think and as she explained herself, Shay really wasn’t sure what exactly she thought. Sure she knew there were certain magical creature hybrids that were allowed to do magic and attend school and everything, part veelas were the perfect example. But she had never met a fairy, nor even heard of one attending a magical school, so this was certainly a shock to her. A…fairy…?She asked looking down at the floor, completely stunned herself. It took her a few moments to actually comprehend the situation before she looked back up at Adalynn. She saw the tears falling from her eyes and couldn’t help but get up and go over to her, pulling her into a hug. Don’t worry…your secret is totally safe with me. She said, looking down into her eyes, brushing a tear away with a sweet smile. You may wanna put your wings away though…in case anyone else comes into the common room. She suggested, looking at her wings curiously.

Adalynn felt Shay come towards her and couldn't help but bite her lip nervously...hoping Shay wouldn't attack her or anything like she was use to...and was surprised even more the way Shay acted. She looked up into her eyes as she was pulled into a hug. She was stunned by how pretty the other girl was and she couldn't help but blush as Shay wiped a few of her stray tears out of her face.
She tucked in her wings quietly with a sweet smile, I usually remember but I guess I have forgot when I left...I can't believe I have forgotten it this time... She whispered as she looked up into Shay's eyes...her small arms wrapped around Shay's waist to return the hug...She felt warm against her and it made her smile slightly but she wasn't sure why.
