HISTORY: Mikayla was born in Arkansas which is in the southern United States. It isn’t that often that you see large wizarding families in the US but that is because the rest of her family is rooted in Spain. Mikayla was raised like a normal pure blood witch however because her family is a noble pure blood family, she also grew up thinking that anyone who wasn’t pure blood wasn’t worth the time of day. In her family, if anyone were to marry a mudblood, they were written out of their family tree and never spoken of again.

Mikayla was born to Carlyle and Catrina Menki on February 29th, which means technically Mikayla’s birthday only comes once every 4 years, but she always celebrates it on the 28th just so she can have a party. Her parents were never really there for her as they both had very important ministry jobs that sent them away on trips for long periods of time. Mikayla spent a lot of time alone on their southern plantation style house with no one but a few house elves to keep her company. However, her parents taught her that house elves weren’t worth the time of day, so she wasn’t to make conversation with them.
The fact that she was lonely caused her to get in trouble a lot an make friends with the wrong crowd of people and even as early as elementary school, she was getting in trouble. She was kicked out of at least two elementary schools and once she turned 11 she got accepted to both The Salem Witches Institute and the American School of Witchcraft of Wizardry. In an attempt to control her behavior, her parents sent her to the Salem Witches Institute to keep her away from boys. She only lasted as long as her first year. From her second through third years, she went to the American Wizarding School and made a few friends there, but she got into some trouble at that school as well and once they were out of options, they sent Mikayla to Hogwarts for her 4th year where she was sorted into Slytherin.
At Hogwarts, she made a name for herself as one of the gossip queens of the school and got herself a reputation for being slutty, which in actuality, she really wasn’t, she just liked the attention. She has opened up to at least Half-bloods and doesn’t ask about blood status upon first meeting the person anymore, at least giving people a chance. However, most of the time if she figured out that the person was muggle born, she would cut all ties with the person and forget she ever met them.
Everything changed about her in her 7th year, when by some strange coincidence, she met what she thought was the love of her life, Kite Skeron. They met by a strange twist of fate and hit it off immediately even though she was a Slytherin and he a Gryffindor. It seemed like it was the perfect match and everything was going perfectly for some time. After they finished school, they got married in a lavish ceremony in front of all their friends and family and they thought it would last forever. But of course all good things come to an end eventually.
Their marriage lasted a year but once real life caught up to them and the reality of being a young married couple and trying to starty their lives after finishing school set in. He was training to become an Auror and she had just accepted a teaching position at Hogwarts as Herbology Professor; very different jobs with very different schedules. They hardly had any times together and just after their year anniversary they called it quits and divorced.
Now, Mikayla is 19 and looking to make major changes in her life. She sold the house she shared with her husband after he moved out, opting to buy a new one in Norway, which was the farthest away place she could think of to move. She had never really needed a job in the first place, but she didn’t want to be bored and alone all the time, so she applied at Durmstrang Institute as they were looking for someone to fill the Herbology Professor position. She is hoping this can be a fresh start for her to begin her life again.[/color]
