Adonia was sitting in her room as she was staring at her Charms homework. It was always so uneasy for her. Adonia did know what to do, but sometimes, she was unsure of herself. This is when she needed her previous boyfriend, Athan, to help her. He was a pro at Charms and he always seemed to help her when she needed it. Sighing, Adonia tapped her pen onto her paper, staring at her cauldron. She was thinking about ditching the homework and going outside to make some potions… but she really couldn’t leave her homework unfinished. It would drive her crazy!
After staring at it for another few moments, Adonia sighed in frustration. Since she was new, she didn’t really know anyone comfortably yet to ask for help. Maybe the professor would be in… Grabbing her boots with the heels on them, Adonia slipped them on along with a very thin sweater to go over her shirt and took off to the professor’s office. When she had reached the office, Adonia lightly knocked on the door. [red]”Professor? Are you in?[/red]

Elias wasn’t doing anything of particular interest at the moment. He was supposed to be working on his lesson plan for the next week’s lessons…but in reality he was just sort of staring off into space. He wasn’t going to lie, he was rather bored. Maybe he should just, not write the lesson plan and just…and just what? It’s not like he had anything else to do; this was his job, the job he had always wanted and the job he loved. Maybe he just needed to get out for a while, go into town and grab a drink or something. That could be fun, could get his mind off things for a couple of hours and then he could come back and be fully able to concentrate on his work. Yes, that seemed like a good idea, and that’s what he would do…after he finished grading the stack of papers he had been putting off since earlier that day.
Sighing, he grabbed his red inked quill and got to work. The life of a professor, no matter how much he enjoyed it, was often very lonely. He was new here so he hadn’t really made many friends with the other professors just yet, although he hadn’t given anyone a chance yet so he supposed that was mostly his fault. He sat there thinking to himself for a moment, not really having made any marks on the paper just yet, when he heard a knock at his door followed by a soft female voice. Yes yes. Come in. What can I help you with? He asked, not looking up from his paper just yet. Not until said person entered the room.

Hearing that the professor was in, Adonia walked into the classroom. It seemed a little more grungier than Beauxbatons. But Beauxbatons was more of a pretty posh school and here, not so much. It was a definite change, that was for sure. As she came in more and stood in front of her desk, Adonia seemed a little hesitant on talking to the professor. He was definitely good looking and all, but then again, she cant think of her professor as good looking… can she? She didn’t know. Clearing her throat, [red]”I just had a question on my homework assignemnt. Its been giving me some great difficulty and I was wondering if you can take a look at it?”[/red] Holding out her paper so the professor could grab it.
Why was it Charms giving her trouble? Why couldn’t it be something else like History? Well… she was already bad at that but still… Adonia is a smart girl and she didn’t need to be tutored by someone else. It was just not necessary for it.

Elias looked up at the student entered the room; it was the new student in his class, Adonia. He was a little surprised that she was coming for help so early in the year, as his lessons were only going to get harder as the year went on, but he would help her of course. What kind of teacher would he be if he didn’t help her and if she were to fail, it would only look bad on him. Well, let’s see… He said as he took her paper and looked over it. Well then, we’re working on the Disillusionment Charm, which, contrary to what you have here, does not make the subject invisible, although that is a common mistake. In actuality, it makes the subject a…chameleon of sorts to give them the appearance of whatever is behind them. He said handing the paper back to her. He cleared his throat and pulled out his wand, placing it on the desk in front of him. Miss Theodosia, I had contacted your previous charms professor at Beauxbatons and she let me in on some of your…weak points, for lack of better words. If you don’t mind, I have a feeling that demonstrating the charms on you would give you a bit of a better understanding of them. …If you consent of course. He looked up at her from his seat with his gorgeous blue eyes, waiting for her response.

Listening to his explanation about the Disillusionment Charm, Adonia blinked her eyes. Basically putting a blank stare onto her face. Just utter confusion. [red]”Um…”[/red] Why does it have to be her?! Her last boyfriend at Beauxbatons would have been by her side helping her along the way, but no. She was alone here for the moment. No friends. To be honest, it didn’t feel very well. Adonia felt like the outsider to this school. It was just bad. Back at home, she had tons of friends she could count on.
As she was getting ready to open her mouth stating that she was still lost, Professor Setälä had stated that he had contacted her last professor… must have been Professor Gulvac. She kind of didn’t like Adonia because she seemed to get everything wrong… Adonia just didn’t know how she passed her exams and such with her. [red]”Oh… well, yeah… that will be fine. Sometimes its just hard for it to stick into this brain is all. Im actually great at all the other subjects… well except for this one and History. But I promise Im good at the other ones.”[/red] There was a hint of a blush in her face since Adonia was ashamed to admit her weaknesses since someone could use them against her… well, everyone would know sooner or later by her performance in class.
As Professor Setälä stared up at her, he had the most remarkable blue eyes ever. It reminded her of someone back home, another boyfriend, but these… were gorgeous! Adonia cleared her throat a little and looked down. They were just too perfect to stare at. [red]”Should I perform the charm? Or at least attempt?”[/red]

Elias couldn’t help but sigh at the look of confusion on her face. She obviously still didn’t get it even after his explanation…hopefully showing it to her would make it easier. I think the problem most people have with this charm is that it is completely nonverbal. This is a very advanced charm for my older charms students who should have mastered nonverbal spells by this point. There’s really no easy way to explain this charm seeing as how there is no real incantation for me to simplify for you so I guess the best way would be for me to just show you. He said with a small smile.
As she explained herself, Elias couldn’t help but smirk for some reason. He didn’t doubt she was excellent at all of her others subjects. He had looked over her academic record when she signed up for classes when she switched over to Durmstrang and she excelled in most everything…with the exception of Charms and History as she said. She was a bright one, there was no doubt about that but she just needed some extra help, and that’s what he was here for. He wouldn’t give up on her.
Getting up, he walked to the other side of his desk and leaned against it slightly, wand in hand. I think I should show you the charm first, on you and then when I turn you back, I want you to attempt it on me. Sound like a good plan? He asked, before pulling out his wand and getting ready to perform the charm on her.

Nodding her head, Adonia now understood that it is a nonverbal spell. That should be kind of easy for her since in Potions, she likes to do nonverbal spells so that the other kids wouldn’t try and copy her. In Beauxbatons, it was hard for her to do work since everyone would watch her and then ask what the incantation she had just said and then copied her. If everyone is asking her for help, what are they learning? Nothing. So it was easier doing her work herself. She gave him a small smile back, [red]”Ok, that makes sense. That may be a little easier now to understand.[/red]
Adonia bit her lip… he wanted her to try the spell on him once he was finished putting a spell on her? Really? He could trust her? Adonia honestly couldn’t even trust herself with a simple Charms spell. [red]”Um… Professor… do you trust me enough to do that? Cause I don’t mind you casting one on me, but what happens if something goes wrong and I just cant get you back to normal? We need a Charms professor…”[/red] This worried Adonia very much.

Elias returned her nod with one of his own when she said she was starting to understand. As long as it was beginning to get through to her, he was doing his job. It shouldn’t take much more explaining for her to figure the whole thing out and he figured by showing her how the charm looked and felt, she would finally understand. She seemed apprehensive when he suggested she try the charm on him after he show her how it was done. I have faith in you Adonia. And don’t worry, if you do make a mistake and can’t figure out how to reverse it, I can easily change myself back. I am Charms professor you know, this is what I do. I wouldn’t have my job if I didn’t know how to fix a simple mistake in a disillusionment charm. He said giving her a smile.
He took a step towards her and raised his wand, giving her a reassuring smile that everything would be just fine. Tapping her head with his wand, she should have felt like he just cracked an egg on her head as she slowly began to blend in with everything around them. Just like that… He said, looking at the spot where she should have been. He let her stay camouflaged for a few moments before reversing the charm and bringing her back to normal. See, not too hard. Now let’s see you do it…

When Professor Setala smiled, Adonia smiled back and she had a sudden red flash that ran through her veins and up to her cheeks. That embarrassed her. Was she embarrassed that she was so smart and didn’t think that he could change himself back… or was it that when he smiled, it had seemed to ignite something in her body… she didn’t know and right now, that couldn’t distract her from what she was going to perform on her professor. Then she would REALLY be embarrassed if she messed up.
The moment the wand hit her brown haired head, Adonia felt like her head had cracked like an egg. It was an odd feeling and then she looked at her hands. It looked like she had blended into the surroundings around her. [red]”Wow, this is so cool!”[/red] Adonia giggled a little bit as she looked at her body now. It was a really cool experience. Once he had reversed the charm on her, Adonia felt more confident in what she was going to do.
After he said that it wasn’t too hard and now it was her turn to try, Adonia smiled at the professor, close her eyes and then tapped her wand onto his head… when she had opened her eyes, Adonia had seen that the professor was camouflaged! She had did it! Adonia squeaked and had a huge smile on her face. [red]”I did it! I did it!”[/red] She jumped once in the air and laughed for a moment… now, it was the time to make sure he could be reappeared safely… but for some reason, she didn’t know how to. [red]”So… how do you reverse it, professor?”[/red] She asked shyly, but still with excitement in her voice.

As Elias performed the charm on her, even though he couldn’t see her reaction, he could hear it, and it sort of amused her how excited she was by it. When he showed the class the charm earlier that day, he had only shown the example on one student and they were going to work on practicing the charm within the next couple of days. So technically, if Adonia mastered the charm today, she would probably be ahead of the class for the next lesson. Today’s lesson was basically the bookwork portion of the spell, because with Elias’s method of teaching, he felt that to properly understand the charm, you had to understand all aspects of it before anything.
Once he reversed the spell, he saw the smile on her face and for some reason it made him smile as well. He wasn’t quite sure why, but he chalked it up to being excited that she was understanding everything. It was now her turn to perform the charm on him…he kept his wand in his hand, just in case something did go wrong that he would need to reverse. However, as she tapped him on the head with her wand, he felt the familiar feeling of an egg being cracked on his head and as it spread down his body, it appeared to vanish, just as it was supposed to. Even though she couldn’t see him, he was smiling, so proud of her for getting it right on the first try. So she did understand what she was telling him, which was amazing, but he knew she had it in her from the beginning anyway. He had to admit, once she opened her eyes and saw him not standing there, the little jump she did in the air was…kinda cute. Although he would never let himself completely admit that, since he would never ever be involved with a student. Yes, you did! To reverse it, you’re going to do just what I did to you. Start at where my feet should be, point your wand at me and in one swift motion, bring it up to where you think my head should be, basically think that you’re lifting an invisibility cloak off of me, if that makes sense. He said, waiting to see if she would get it right.

Adonia smiled really widely now as he started to state how to reverse the spell. She got it now. Nodding her head, understanding it easier. Adonia thought of taking a cloak off, took a deep breath and silently in her head said the spell and waved her wand and when she opened her eyes, Adonia saw that the professor was back and she squealed in excitement and couldn’t help it but go and hug him. [red]”Thank you, thank you thank you!”[/red] She said quickly but then released him and cleared her throat. [red]”Sorry… kind of got carried away a little there.”[/red] Adonia couldn’t help but noticed that he smelled really good. Did he wear cologne? Sometimes people have a natural scent to them even if they don’t wear anything that makes them smell good. Sometimes it could be from the atmosphere of their envoirnment of that smell…
Shaking her head, Adonia was going to geek mode inside her head, [red]”Thank you again for showing me that. You were very helpful and some of the tips that you gave were really helpful. You’re a great teacher to me so far.”[/red] Adonia’s face turned slightly red and her German accent seemed to thicken more at the end since she did feel a bit embarrassed… why would she have been embarrassed or shy to tell him? It was weird.

Truth be told, Elias had closed his eyes for a brief moment as Adonia attempted to reverse the spell she had put on him. It wasn’t that he didn’t think she could do it, since he had total faith in her. But if, by some chance, something did go wrong, he didn’t really wanna see it. Squeezing his eyes shut for just a spilt second, he opened them just as she apparently did, although he really didn’t advise for the students to close their eyes when they were performing charms. He looked down at his hands and noticed that they were, in fact, still there and functional and judging by her reaction of a squeal and an unexpected hug, he was completely back to normal.
Although the hug took him off guard and he wouldn’t normally allow such behavior from a student, he didn’t really seem to mind when Adonia threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly, thanking him profusely for his help. So, against everything his mind was telling him, he returned her hug lightly before she let go and backed away, although, for some reason, he wouldn’t have objected to the hug lasting a bit longer. No need to thank me, really. That was all you. You have the skills to be excellent at Charms. All you need to do is focus and be confident that you can do it. He said with a smile, his eyes lightening a bit with his mood, although he didn’t change them on purpose which was strange. Normally, he was in completely control of his metamorphagus powers, but he had no control over that slight change to a lighter, more piercing blue. As she thanked him again, calling him a great teacher, a small blush spread across the bridge of his nose and he really had no idea why. He knew he was a good teacher, but to actually hear a student call him one, it just made him a bit embarrassed. Thank you, Miss Theodosia. You really are an excellent student and I’m sure you’ll be at the top of the next lesson since you’ll technically be ahead of the class now. He wasn’t sure why he told her that, but he just though she should know that he hadn’t shown anyone else exactly HOW to do the charm just yet.

Adonia nodded her head as she listened to his advise that all she needed to do was to focus and be confident. That wouldn’t be so hard for her since she had tons of confident in her work. Well… maybe it would be a little tougher since Charms was her worst subject and that she had very little confidence in it, but since Professor Setälä taught her in a different way that she could understand made her want to come and have more private lessons with him. Also, he was nice to look at… which she really shouldn’t think like that since it is her professor after all. It would never happen, not even in her wildest dreams.
Wow, she was ahead of the class?? Adonia had a confused look onto her face as she looked at him. Maybe that was his next lesson was to make sure that the students could cast the spell correctly and such… that was good for herself because then she wouldn’t make herself look like a dumbass and mess up in the class since, after all, she is the new girl in the school. Adonia wants to be known as the Smart Girl and was afraid to let her weaknesses show. She needed to be strong if she was going to survive her last year here at Durmstrang.
When she noticed his blush earlier, she thought it was cute. So he can get embarrassed. [red]”Well, thank you for all your help. You don’t know how much I do appreciate it.”[/red] Looking at her watch, Adonia noticed that the time was getting a little late and she did have some potions she wanted to go over before class in the morning… which was basically pointless since she knew all the potions by heart, but it gave her an excuse to work more with the potions and to mess around before going to bed and doing other homework. [red]”Oh, I need to get going before the potions lab closes down for the night. Again, thank you so much, professor. For everything.”[/red] Adonia gave him a cute smile and turned for the door, exiting.
