Shane reluctantly closed his eyes. It wasn't in his nature to let up his guard, especially with a stranger. By closing his eyes he was giving her his trust and although it was hard fo him to give that to her, he found himself willing. As he closed his eyes, he held his palm out, absolutely positive something bad was going to happen. He assumed a bunch of kids would jump out from somewhere and jump him or attack him in some way. But instead, Adalynn's finger traced his palm and he felt, what, odd for sure. In moments, there was a perfect green apple in his hand. As he opened his eyes, they moved from the apple, to her face.
He studied her, fear and interest whelming up inside of him. What and who did he truly find outside? She was pretty and claimed to be a fairy, and although he doubted it earlier, certain magical events were starting to change his mind. "Well, this looks to be a perfect apple to the eye...but how do I know I ain't gonna die if I eat it? There are many a people in this castle who would like me dead, so....I'm definitely scared to take a bite." He said, looking at the apple and throwing it in the air, only to catch it in a moment after. Then Shane eyed her and leaned in close. "How'd you do that, by the way? What spell can do that?" He asked, looking once more at the apple in his hand. It was even shiny! It was perfect and yet he found himself fearful of eating it. But why? This girl seemed completely innocent and happy. Happy people don't kill their friends. After mulling over that for a moment, he decided to act against his better judgement, and took a bite of the green apple in his hand. Adalynn was right. It was better than the first and the juice made him want more of that apple. "You swear you didn't do anything to this apple? If I die, I'll haunt you...." he said through a mouthful of food. "Why you being so nice to me?" he asked, really unsure of why a girl like her was even giving him the time of day. He was Muggleborn, a fighter, a troublemaker, adn yet this girl was talking to him and willingly spending time with him. It made no sense to him at all. [/blockquote]

Adalynn smiled at him as he said it did look to be the perfect apple. His pondering on whether he would die if he ate it made him giggle and then frown at the idea of people wanting him dead..which made him afraid to take a bite...Why would anyone want you dead? That's such a horrible thought. I couldn't imagine ever wanting anyone dead...not even my brother...and well...I guess that doesn't matter..he is technically dead...but it's not like I wished him to be dead... She thought out loud in a confused ramble... She looked at him for a moment in wonder at his question, It wasn't a spell like you wizards do...it was me summoning something.... She said with a shy smile, Summoning something from the fae world.
She cringed slightly as he talked though a mouth of food, and looked away slightly, I didn't do anything to the apple...don't worry about that. She said finally looking back at him as he asked why she was being nice to him, Why wouldn't I be nice to you? You have done nothing wrong to me..

Shane took it at face value this time. Adalynn had no idea what was happening at Durmstrang with the Muggleborns. SIghing, and taking another bite of the apple, while looking at her interestingly, he sat down at the table and motioned for her to join him. "You really don't know, do you? Muggles, you know, humans with no magical power, sometimes give birth to a baby who is magical. Like me. Well...a lot of people in the magical world hate Muggleborns, like me." He took another bite of the apple and looked at her. She seemed different from the rest. She honestly didn't understand why anyone would want to hurt him. She demure, passive, sweet. It surprised him that someone like her could exist in a world where death and hate were so prominent. "The people here, students and teachers alike, hate people like me. And they'll go to any extent to get rid of us. So be careful who you're seen hanging around with. THey just might associate you with Muggleborns." he winked at her and finished his apple in three more bites. He threw the core up in the air and pointed his wand at it, making it disintegrate in the air, exploding with lights and sparkles. [/blockquote]

Adalynn sat beside him as she motioned her to do so. She grinned at him as she sat real close to him and blushed slightly as her leg touched his...She felt the warm of the small touch and couldn't help but let out a nervous flutter of her eyelashes at him...his words made her tilt her head to look up at him.Well...that doesn't seem like a reason to hate someone...If anything they should see how special you are...a magical amazement. She said softly, blushing at her own words. They can associate me with anyone they want...I'm not afraid. She told him firmly...Her blue eyes stared up into his for a long moment in silence. Her eyes lit up as he made the apple explode into sparkles and lights taking her breath away her mouth parted in surprise slightly....That's so pretty. She told him as she slipped her hand into his hand that wasn't holding the wand and gave it a small squeeze...

Shane wasn't very comfortable with dating or with girls. They made him nervous and he never knew what to say. One thing for sure, he never knew what to do with his hands. THey were always flopping around and doing somethign stupid. So when Adalynn grabbed his hand, that was one that he didn't have to worry about. This girl was a faery, and she was giving him the time of day; a lot of time. That confused him. Who in their right minds would give him, Shane Dorsal, any time at all? He certainly wouldn't. He was beaten, angry, and very near suicide half the time. He was forgotten by the world and looked down on by the few who happened to stumble upon him. And yet, Adalynn was holding his hand. It brought on a whole new feeling to him that he couldn't put his finger on. "You should be afraid, to a point. There are rules, you know. If you get caught holding my hand, they'll kill you." He said, looking at her. He wasn't sure if that was the exact rule, but that was the gist of it. With that, he removed his hand from hers, if only to save her from the stupidity of the world they lived in. He wasn't going to be this girl's downfall. "It's true. A new rule. Anyone seen with a muggleborn will bein serious trouble. I don't want to be the boy that got you in trouble." Well, isn't that lovely. A pretty girl actually wants to be with him, at least for the time being, and he has to let it go. He had the sudden urge to kiss the girl, which brought on feelings of excitement, fear, shyness, and well, fear again. He'd only kissed one girl at home, and that was behind that stupid snow cone machine at the school carnival. This was different, and if he did kiss her, they could very be expelled or worse. So Shane kept his lips to himself and shoved his hands in his pockets as he looked at Adalynn, regret written all over his face.[/blockquote]

Adalynn couldn't help but smile at how warm and soft his hand felt in hers. She couldn't help but smile at how it felt to hold his hand. She really didn't want it to end as soon as it did..She blinked up into his eyes and pouted as he pulled it away. Kill me Shane? I doubt this...they would be dealing with such an angry Fairy mom if they even laid a hand on me...Don't worry about me so much Shane...And why does it matter if your seen with me? I'm not a witch...your rules mean nothing to me. She said with a smile, I'm sure they see me as a lesser being as well...I mean wizards try to control other beings all the time...I'm sure they don't mind who I'm seen with...as long as it's not a wizard...I could imagine them being pretty angry if I got with a pureblood wizard...afraid I would taint their blood. She said with a small smile.
She wanted to reach for his hands again but was saddened by him tucking them away in his pockets, she leaned into him with a smile...resting her head on his shoulder, What is there to do in this place anyways? She asked curiously.
